My lovely old girl cat is nearly 18. She has been the loveliest, most laid back cat since I found her as a tiny abandoned kitten.
She had a sticky eye between Christmas and New Year so we took her to the vets and were given eye drops. The vet gave her an once over and told us that she was in fairly good shape for such an old girl.
The last 2 days she has gone down hill so quickly, she isn't eating at all and will only drink if you take her to her water. She is sleeping pretty much constantly now. She is wobbly on her poor legs and hasn't used the litter tray overnight.
I've booked her into the vets for this evening, my OH wants to be there when we go. We both had a few tears this morning, she has been the sweetest little thing and we don't want her to suffer.
I'm doing the right thing, I know that. So why does it hurt so much? My poor little girl, we hoped that she would last until the summer. She is the most solar powered cat I have ever known, we wanted her to go in her sleep lying in the greenhouse in the sun.
Thank you Mallory Cat for being such a delight and joy. We will miss you and your funny little miaow.
