Does your cat know when you're ill.

I have been in bed all day with a vomiting bug and my lovely boy has been lying on my feet all day and will intermittently come and rub my face and look 'concerned'. I got up to be sick at about 6am and he sat outside the bathroom and then came and lay next to me and put his paw on my shoulder. When any of the children are ill, he does the same thing. I luffs him.

He's gorgeous! Mine do. They stick close by if one of us it sick. They're wonderful creatures.

Yes he does. When I broke my back last year, gently placed a dead mouse by my side. Also hugged up to DH's leg in bed when he hurt it.

My Bengal knows that something is up - we are putting our old girl down in a few hours, I can hear my husband sobbing his heart out on the other side of the flat. The Bengal won't leave my side, she knows (or possibly, she is plotting her best sleep positions for when she's got the run of the place)...

Imiss Sorry about your girl Flowers
I know I'll be bereft when I have to say goodbye to this one, we've had him for 10 years and he's the soppiest, most loving cat I've ever known. DH, who tries to make out that he's Mr Tough, bought him a kitty advent calendar.

I'm so sorry about your cat Imiss

I think Harry knows when I'm ill, although he's not good if I've been sick. I had pancreatitis a few years ago and he was cowering in the corner of the bathroom as I was being sick - I felt so sorry for him but there wasn't a lot I could do! When I had my gallbladder out he went to bed with me every afternoon if I needed a rest.

No, or if she does then she doesn't give a shit.

So sorry imiss.
Yes they know when I'm unwell. Someone ( I have three) is always despatched on nurse / guard duties.

It's done now, it was actually really nice, and the Bengal is just flabbergasted at the space she now has available. The vet was my favourite vet at the surgery by chance, and he's a good egg.

Flowers for you and your hubby Imiss

Yup mine tend to sit on me like furry hot water bottles when I'm unwell.

Mind you that could be because I'm usually running a temp so burning up and they are taking advantage at my burny heat emissions and that I'm too ill to move.

Yes - and they also come and sit on me if I'm crying.

Hugs Imiss.

Our cat senses something and goes to spend time with the poorly/sad member of the house.
DS 1 was recently ill and cat would only leave his room when he wanted feeding (food is important in cat's life).
It's odd but lovely.

Cats are truly wonderful. I am counting down the days until I can retire and become a mad cat lady.

Yes mine definitely does, he always snuggles up to me and gives me concerned little nudges when I'm ill. He also knew I was pregnant both times before it was obvious and wouldn't leave me alone, wanted to cuddle my tummy!

Yes. When I came out of hospital last year. One of mine barely left my side.

You have to be retired to be a mad cat lady?!?!

Mine does too - she loves duvet days but also lately after I found my husband was cheating, she has been like my shadow, licks my tears, and snuggles up when I am really sad or low. She's been wonderful.

My silly boy knows when I am ill and always tries to make me better by bringing me a toy mouse, freshly dipped in the water bowl and dropping it on my face.

The big girl does not care. Unless feeding time is delayed. Then she gets grumpy.
