Sat waiting to go to vet....

Sat waiting to take our 19 year old to the vets.

Took her to vets on Wednesday as she had blood in her poo and they found a lump but wasn't sure if it was just poo that hadn't moved along as her muscles are going so she is booked on again on Wednesday for another check to see if it's gone or if it's a tumour. She had an injection and was sent home.

Come down this morning to bright red blood all in the hall, living room and kitchen and her backend covered in it. She's walking and cleaning her self and just got up for some water and had some food but she's walking with her tail slightly lifted like they do when they are going to the toilet.

Meeting vet at 8am and hoping that it's nothing sinister, just a blockage. Lost our 18 year old 11 days ago to renal failure and not ready to make that decision again even though I know she's a good age Sad

Any experience anyone with something similar?

Left her at the vets for blood tests and scan but whilst in there she emptied herself and it was exceptionally dark which the vet said shows its older blood and from higher up which unfortunately isn't a good sign.

Hoping it's just her thyroid medication that isn't right but I read the notes in the system from our visit Wednesday and they had put about the lump being poo but didn't think it was really.

Thankfully work have let me work from home today but I can't concentrate.

Unfortunately not good news.

They sedated her and did an examination and found a tumour. I can't put a 19 year old through an operation so we are having to make that decision.

Husband is coming home so we can go together and be with her.

And this is her, gorgeous Chloe

So sorry Autumn she's a beautiful girl, and you've given her a great life to get her to 19.

Unfortunately we are in a similar situation, our 15 year old boy tabby has a lump in his bowel, and we are waiting to hear on the biopsy results, but lymphoma is strongly suspected. We lost our 15 year old tortie girl only a month ago too. So sad for us both xx

Thank you everyone and so sorry to anyone else going through this at the moment. It's heart wrenching to make the decision. My sister's cat has a lump also so I think now she's a bit worried about her results.

Thank you to SIL (she got me into Mumsnet so may be reading) for sitting with me and distracting me.

Going at 3pm to say final farewell and even typing that makes me cry. You feel so stupid for bawling so much over a pet but to lose two of them in two weeks is heartbreaking.
