Cat is nearly 14 and has become increasingly food obsessed over the last few weeks. He's always been a bit prone to throwing up occasionally - especially with treat food (prawns, chicken etc) as he eats it too quickly.
Lately though he's been throwing up regularly and over the last week it's been daily. I didn't worry too much at first as an elderly neighbour puts food out for the local cats so I thought maybe he was getting something there which disagreed with him. But he was sick last night and again this morning. This afternoon he was sitting inside on a windowsill and I realised he was going to be sick. I managed to get him out and he projectile vomited loads.
He's been shouting for food more and more and doing the most enormous poos in the litter tray.
I took him to the vets this afternoon. He'd had full bloods a few months ago and they were fine but vet tested for thyroid problems. She rang up earlier but unfortunately I didn't get to speak to her. The message was his blood test was fine so just carry on with the sensitive tummy food.
He's currently sitting hunkered over his food bowl shouting at me. Over the past few hours I've put 1/3 of a sachet of food out twice. When I do put it out he's so desperate for food some of it goes on his head as he just can't wait.
So:
Elderly cat
Throwing up
Hungry all the time
Huge poos
The vet said he's lost weight.
It sounds like cancer doesn't it? Any other suggestions?
