We're moving back to the UK in a couple of weeks and will be living with my parents for a few weeks while we find a rental property.

Since we all left home, my parents finally have a disposable income and have spent years making their once chaotic house nice and stylish.

My two girls aren't scratchy cats but I'm worried sick that with the stress of the move (a long flight and a new house) they may behave out of character.

Does anyone have recommendations for furniture protectors or anything that will prevent my girls from vandalising my parents' home?

Try a pet remedy spray or defused to calm them down. Much more effective than feliway.

Thanks for the tip. We've tried feliway in the past and it's had no effect at all.

I was thinking of something like this for their furniture but look at those lovely scratchable corners that are left exposed!

We used a furniture spray called 'get off' and it worked for us. It smells ... interesting, like old tobacco and oranges so your parents might not love that !

Neverknowing they'll probably prefer it to scratches on their new sofas

Someone on another thread was recommending sticky strips which you stick on to furniture, the cats hate the feel of it on their claws and it stops them scratching. Might be worth looking into.

Good suggestion. Does the sticky ruin/leave marks on the furniture though?
