My heart is broken. Shes been ill for a while and in the last week started losing blood which got worse. I cant stop crying. I love her so much. She was in pain and her quality of life was so low.

She was a very independent active cat before all this when she was in full health.

I hurt so much at the moment.

Goodbye my little precious. I love you Thanks Thanks Sad Sad

Thankyou cotton. She was 15 and a half so has been part of my life for such a long time.

We drove around for a while afterwards. as we couldnt bear to come back to the flat.

She was my first and only cat. She belonged to a neighbour originally but decided she preffered us. Rushed our front door just before Christmas 2001 and stayed.

She was/is so precious and it was a joy to be owned by her.

Oh, Helena. I don't have the words, but I wish I did.

These people are known to have very empathic Pet Bereavement counsellors. When you feel ready, try to phone them.

If it helps, post some photographs, and tell us about her, if/when you feel able. We too are an empathic bunch on here.

Poor you. It's awful that empty house feeling. No one noisily complaining about being left alone and scrabbling under the door when you've just gone to the loo, and don't fancy sharing the seat.
No little face popping up on the pillow. No more little paw prints in the dusty windowsill, or little nose bump marks on the windows, or little toys found under the sofa.

Fwiw when I had my last cat pts after a short illness, I came home heaving crying all the way and bagged up everything of hers I could see, and then went out for a drive bawling all the way there, and back.

I bought a fluffy hot water bottle in a chemist shop I passed. I was so blotchy they thought I was having an allergic reaction, but were very nice when I told them about my little cat.

I don't know if me wimbling on helps, but you're not alone. It's really awful losing a family member.
We've all been there more's the pity, and we send hugs.

I'm so sorry. It's hard, even when you know you did the right and loving thing.

Gorgeous and clearly very much loved. She was lucky to have you. They leave such a gap. I understand the empty home feeling.
So sorry.

She didnt like having her belly rubbed but she loved chin rubs. And her head stroked. And we used to kiss by bumping noses gently.

I'm so sorry I have loved my cats as family and still miss them now even ten years after they've gone, I sometimes ache for them I know that sounds mad but it's true. I'm so sorry this has happened to your cat how old was he/ she? Did they have a good life before they got ill?

Ah she was beautiful. What a lovely puss. Its so hard, you just miss them so much when they go. I lasted 3 weeks before we got another cat, not to try and replace my dear old girl, but as someone on this forum put it to fill the 'cat shaped hole' in our lives.

So sorry for the loss of your beautiful cat Flowers

I know it's probably no comfort now but you did her a kindness. I'm sure you have many lovely memories of her that you can keep always, even if it's a bit raw right now.

DH asked the vet to snip off some of her belly hair and some of the darker hair from her side and we are going to put it in two lockets and wear this tiny part of her close to our hearts.
