Rolled in horse poo earlier (saw him do it)
He honks and has been getting in all the clothes/luggage as I'm packing to go away, the furry git :)
What's the safest thing to wash him in? Get a proper pet shampoo?
going to do it tomorrow night..mainly because my mother has asked me to as on Sunday he'll be in her care for nearly two weeks.
Not going to do it tomorrow day as he'll be out and no doubt do it again. So I'll wash him then keep him in and next day he goes to my parents.
What's safe to use?

Don't know about the shampoo, but for your safety, body armour and gauntlets?

I'd look in pets at home, put a towel in the bottom of the bath to give him something to grip so he doesn't slip and panic.

Proper pet shampoo. The sink is better than the bath as it's easier to hold on to him. Fill it to a couple of inches, stand the cat it in then use a plastic cup or jug to scoop the water over him. Shampoo using the pet shampoo then rinse rinse rinse. Easiest if you have a second pair of hands to help with the shampoo bit.

Good luck- mine is a mucky bugger so we have to do this regularly!

I've had to wash him before (just warm water in bath) He was pretty good, didn't scratch much
Will get some proper shampoo from Pets at Home

PAH do an awesome array of cat pampering* products. There's a range that has very similar packaging to TiGi's Bedhead products, that makes me want to bathe and style my cats' hair.

*I realise cats have different ideas of pampering than we do. Grin

We had to bathe Firstcat once. (No choice in the matter.) I've never bathed a cat since, Thank Goodness. Grin

Had to bath OoerrCat again this morning. Covered in shit. He hasn't forgiven me yet.

Nor I him, actually. That's not what you want to do at 8am on a Sunday.

Actually, ooerr, it's not what you want to do at any time! Grin

I didn't need to in the end. The smell wore off as he'd got soaked in the rain and was mousing through lots of long grass so I guess that rubbed it off.
Miss him tons now as he's gone to stay at my parents for 12 nights! House has never been so quiet
