I'm 36 years old, I've been around cats for 99% of my life and today is the first time I've seen a cat Panting like a dog.
I totally freaked out, got the cat and used a water spray to spritz cold water over him. Moistened a cool cloth and wiped him down, neither of which made him happy. He shot off, I anxiously googled and it turn s out its perfectly normal. Blush

The little monkey has been tearing around the house all morning and exhausted himself. Smile
Two minutes after his panting and my panicking he's happily munching a bit of food and having a drink.

My cat did this last year on the first hot day of the summer, he was just under a year old and stupid hadn't worked out how to keep himself cool. Cue mad panic from me as I sponged him down with a cool damp cloth, he was fine within an hour but willingly submitted to an afternoon of being fussed over. Lesson learned, he enjoyed the rest of summer lounging in the shade.

My beloved dearly departed cat Bambos would sleep under the duvet, curled into my legs during the summer, and emerge panting.

Ensure he has plenty of fresh water, and mix some in with his wet food.
