I must throw it away at once!" and see if they come running then? Or does it actually have to have expired, and they need to wittness me actually physically throw the food away?'

Can you pretend it isn't theirs, and that they're not allowed it? That sometimes works.

You need to put it on a plate for you to eat and then leave it by your side for a brief moment and tell the cat very firmly not to touch it, then they'll eat it

Feeling smug as my cats have specialist breed good and have never ever turned their nose up at it. Gourmet cat soup they are not impressed by, once they've drank the juice they don't want the delicate cuts of finest chicken.

I have four, four! different brands on the go at any time, all fish flavoured as nothing else is ever acceptable. On any given day, any number between one and four will be unacceptable.

I am starving them as far as they are concerned.

My vet has warned me that the cat formerly called the Skinny One is now officially fat. Though the Fat one is now normal weight.

It's even worse if it's prescription food. Thankfully my cat no longer requires that, so we're back to ignoring the normal food and eating plastic bags (because plastic is super nutritious)
