Kitten access to garden question

Toki is doing well and is a confident and strong boy with a very strong interest in looking outside! Can he have supervised access in the garden once he has had is second vaccination and chip? We have a very high wall around the garden. He's currently getting fresh air at a partially opened window in the kitchen which we need to have open as we have an Aga and we are melting as we are keeping the kitchen door closed. I think he's going to be a big hunting tiger!

I let mine have supervised access after chipping and jabs. Like you, we have an extremely high walled garden. He doesn't leave the garden even now, even though he's perfectly capable of it, and our other cat explores the neighbours' gardens.

It's advised to not let them out until they're neutered.

It won't do him any harm staying in until then.

We are very circumspect about letting kittens out after we lost one at 4 months years ago. All since then have been kept in until 6 or 7 months depending on time of year/weather and they are absolutely certain who feeds them 😄

We do have a gate they can get through, woods with foxes/rats and a busy estate road close by though.

We waited until Ernie had been neutered to go out on his own but we did have a while of letting him out on a lead and harness. He does have an injury which means we would prefer he didnt go off into other gardens so I was a bit more cautious.. You do have to be on the ball they dont tangle up so we only let him out when we were in the garden (which is a lot) It let him get used to exploring the garden and now he goes out on his own and hasn't yet tried to get over the fence

I do go into the garden a lot with the dogs and to see to the chickens plus our freezer is in the garage just near the back door. Kitten has started anticipating the comings and goings and will take the opportunity to dart out like a speeding bullet but he's fairly easy to catch and will come back in with the dogs!
