Soooo we've just tried the cats best

Oxo plus litter as per reccomended on here and buy the pet shop...

Have to say I'm impressed. It's pretty good stuff so far.

We was previously using the cat San clumping(yellow bag) but despite daily pickings it still smelled some what.

This oxo...so far so good. Thanx!

It is bloody amazing stuff, isn't it!

I recently bought some of their wood pellet litter by accident (only a small bag, luckily) & I couldn't believe the difference - so heavy, & no nice neat snowballs of wee to hook out.

only £20 for 40L atm too!

I can't believe the difference

Thanx for the link but it works out to be the same price if not cheaper at my local pet store

40kg bag is £22 Grin

Ooh this sounds good! We're currently using Pets At Home wood pellets but were thinking of changing to World's Best. Is this one better than World's Best?

NeedACleverNN · 11/05/2016 21:12

I don't know if it's better than world best as so far I've only tried two and this is my second litter but so far I love this stuff!

The pet shop person who reccomended it has a Bengal cat. A male who produces toxic amonia wee and apparently this stuff is the only one worth using

Oh that looks good. Is it safe for kittens?

We've tried them all (including World's Best) and Cats Best Oko Plus is definitely the actual best!

Should be. Mine is only 9 weeks and the pet shop man knew this

I bought the Oko stuff after someone recommended it on here and I'm seriously impressed! I bought a large bag which is about 2/3rds used so far in 5 weeks. I think it was 20L (can't be bothered checking). I've ordered some more. It is brilliant. I haven't had to actually empty the whole trays out at all in the entire time.

Well worth it when it's working out at the same price as the crap I was buying before.

Another fan here. I was given a half bag and couldn't believe how long it lasts!

I love this stuff. I look forward to scooping the round balls out, I call them scotch eggs Grin

OP, are you sure yours is 40kg? The oko only comes in L afaik.

Worlds best comes in kg bags (6 & 12) but cats best is all in L.

(I did a price/weight comparison on here a while back. Cats best worked out cheaper Grin)

Blatant placemark so I can seek out this miracle stuff sometime.

Mimsy, next time you need litter (or even before!) have a look at zooplus. (You can get cashback via quidco or topcashback, & they also have their own discount deal which you pay a small amount for but which pays for itself multiple times)

normally £25 for 40L, often & currently £20 - I keep missing the £5 off deal, but I don't need to keep two huge sacks in the cupboard!

It is truly amazing stuff; I put 5-6L in one tray, which makes it massively deep (I keep a 500ml kitchen jug in the sack to measure it out with) & only costs about £3 a fill. Without any topping up, & with 3 cats using it - although not exclusively, they do go outside a bit too grrr - it lasts at least a month.

this litter box is incredibly good value too (I have the grey one, the lime green is a bit much) - the lid is very tall, & the height of the tray at the deep end means the litter can be 3-4 inches deep which pleases the cats enormously & hides all the evidence Grin

Not sure if it is 40kg as I just bought the smallest to test.

But there were 3 sizes. 5 kg which I've got, a bigger bag and a super size bag which I assume is 40kg.

Well she's been using it all night aaaaaaaaaand the smell is contained! I'm so happy

Amazing stuff, I have four indoor cats and wouldn't use anything else

Report
NeedACleverNN · 12/05/2016 11:22

Just done my first scoop.

They really are like little scotch eggs aren't they?

And the smell...nothing. Even with the hood off. The fact it's flushable makes a big difference.

I think we have our new litter

Another happy user here, we have litter trays all round the house (including behind the sofa in the livingroom) because of one of my cat's behavioural problems and it really does mean there is no smell, even though we are not the most conscientious of tray cleaners. Or there would be no smell if either cat could ever be bothered to make the most rudimentary effort to bury poo. There is no pee smell. (Just to be clear I do clean poo up as soon as I spot it, or smell it, I'm not a total sloven). It is also flushable, we had to flush it after one of the cats had radioiodine treatment for her thyroid and it caused no problems.
