We ( Toddler DD & I ) adopted an 8 year old girl last Friday from C.P.

We had been to visit her a few times & left our towel with her.

We set up a room for her with everything she would need, I closed the door to make her feel safe & within minutes she was scratching at the door & crying.

I opened the door slightly and she went straight down to the lounge to lay on the floor with DD & watch t.v.

Then she showed us her tummy before falling asleep on the sofa.

Shes been a delight.

1st night - we put a babygate on our door, she told us off & slept in the hall.
2nd night - she slept on our bedroom floor.
3rd night & every night since - On our bed Grin

She follows DD up to bed at 7pm everynight, lays near her feet &,when DD is asleep, she comes back downstairs!

So I just wanted to share our story of us 3 girls. We are so pleased she is here.

Aww she's a sweetie, and settled in very well. What's her history? She sounds like she loves the humans. Grin

Thank you Blush Im such a show off.

DD has been wonderful, she feeds DCat every meal. Shes very gentle with her & vica versa.

She 'reads' her books to DCat and tells her we are going shopping & would DCat like to drive us to the shop?

DD is getting a bit of seperation anxiety though I think! Lots of tears in the supermarket as she is worried about DCat being home alone.

History is the owners had small children, another cat & got a new puppy, DCat was very unhappy so they let her go Sad

We had an awful time last summer when we adopted a stray boy hanging around my friends house. He was unchipped etc, so I took him in.
He kept attacking DD, paws as well as teeth. He literally pinned her against the door when she walked past. So DD is very relieved that our girl is a beautiful gentle baby cat.

(The boy from last summer went to live on a farm & is in his element with no children around)

So I was extremely nervous of goung through this again, but shes perfectly matched.

It will be so good for DD in the longer run - once she gets over the anxiety bit. For both of them in fact. Smile

Ive asked DD if she might want to sleep in her own bed/room now so the DCat can join her, so I finally get my bed back.

But it looks like they are both happy on mine for now HmmGrin

Difficult one. You're rather banking on the cat wanting to sleep with DD.

What if she prefers you to sleep with? Grin

Im just on cloud 9 with her. So happy to have a cat again.

'D'P left after 10 years, when I was expecting DD & in that time I lost my Dcat & Ddog to old age. Its been such a heartbreaking couple of years but I said to DD when we move to our new house we will get a cat.

I finally feel settled & it sounds like Im getting old and sentimental. Wink

Dcat was actually resrved when we rang but it fell through & she became available again. Thank goidness I kept checking the website!

Heres our Dcat that we sadly lost when DD was a baby. She was a gentle soul as well, DD wont remember her but I do love closeness they had in that short time.
