The litter tray

My cat is planning to kill me

I have two rescue cats, not from the same litter but brought home within a week of each other. The boy - Stan is a laid back friendly boy who is glad to see me, nips my fingers with purry love and just likes to hang out with me. The girl - Bunty is a gorgeous little jet black thing with huge green eyes that BLAZE yes BLAZE with contempt for me. Whenever I pick her up, she grumbles and huffs. If I think she's relaxing - I might tickle her gently behind the ears and she grumbles at me. I have never heard her purr - really - the nearest I ever hear is her snoring. Yes she snores.

And when it's feeding time she yowls very loudly to be fed. And I mean 'loudly'. I've seen grown foxes jump when she yowls. Stan will eat treats from my hand but Bunty will regard me as though I've taken a dump onto my palm and won't eat until I've dropped the treats on the floor.

I would understand if Bunty had come from an abusive background but I have treated her with gentleness from the start. But I catch her glaring at me. She really hates me. But I stick it out because she is madly in love with Stan. She washes him behind the ears and respectfully trots behind him when they go outside. He will either roll about on the ground with her, or gently cuff her with his paw when she gets too amorous (they've both been spayed).

I just don't get it. She hates me but adores my other cat.

She is a cats cat. My girl is the same. She barely tolerates stroking hates being picked up. We have had her since 7 weeks old and she used to sleep curled up next to me under the duvet as a teeny kitten. Now she has her cat friend she is not fussed.
