Help: visiting male cat

We have an indoor rescue cat. She was very very timid and stressed for a long time when she first came to us but we worked hard to help her feel safe here and she's like a different cat now.

About 3months ago we got new upstairs neighbours (old Victorian building converted into flats) who also had a cat. He comes down the fire escape from upstairs and sits right up against the bedroom window yowling. Our cat hisses at him and I think is stressed by it. He seems a very nice cat but is just a bit obsessed with her!

Anyway, my problem is this: over the past few days I've been able to smell cat wee in that room. It's definitely coming from the window (drafty sash window) but I can't see a wet patch or find anything. I think either he's spraying/weeing from the outside or maybe she is from the inside? Either way it stinks.

Help me oh wise cat owners! What can I do?

Hi, so although I can't solve my own problem, I have watched plenty of Jackson Galaxy Grin. Have you got a blacklight? Might help you find out where it is coming from so you can clean it and act accordingly.

Is your cat neutered? If not then that may be making him curious. Other than that... How about some lion poo in a bag outside near the window? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Silent-Roar-Lion-Manure-Repellant/dp/B0002B7OT2/ref=sr11_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459541198&sr=8-1&keywords=lion+poo+pellets

Do you happen to know if the other cat is neutered?

Thanks risotto. No blacklight but I'm 99.9% sure I've got rid of it all now. And she hasn't done it again since I went above and beyond with the cleaning (fingers crossed).

Yummy yes my cat has been neutered but I don't know about the neighbours cat. I keep meaning to strike up casual chat with them about him but we never seem to see each other and I don't want to go up just to say "I think your cat fancies my cat and it's causing a bit of bother"(!)
May have to invest in lion poo!

Also, Vicky Halls books are good, Cat Detective and Cat Confidential.

You could also try a feliway plug in to stop her feeling stressed. They really work for us and kept the cat happy through building work and new babies.
