Gourmet cat soup

I kid you not!
Received an email today marketing 4 flavours sachets of cat soup, so being slave to my trio, off I trotted and Sainsburys have some (sure other supermarkets will also stock it) 40g sachets (read tiny) for 80p each, so I got one of each flavour. Tried a portion between two of mine and it was scoffed very quickly, never seen the bowls so clean. This was the tuna and anchovy flavour.
Glad they enjoyed it, but hope the price comes down!

I was worried when I read the title of your thread!!!
Soup for cats though? Pleased to hear they enjoyed it.

Ha ha didn't think of that Vino, it's definitely food for cats, not made from cats!
Mine like juice/gravy cat food, so I guess this is just a wetter version of cat food, didn't smell too bad either.

My cat would love it. What brand is it and I'll look out for it at my local store

My dear departed old boy would have loved it. He loved Gourmet, but would lick the gravy and meow for more.

Might have kept him alive a bit longer Sad

I'll have to get some for my fluffets, they'd love it.

They are Gourmet, only saw them as single packs, hope they will put them into multipacks.
My old boy cat prefers to lick the sauce/gravy from his food, so good for him!

Twenty year old Bosscat has no teeth ...Grinand loves gourmet with gravy. We have to mush that up for her and licks it all up. I will look out for the soup!

Quickly looked - in order to amend tomorrow's order - and our Sainsbury's doesn't have it. Sad

That's a shame Cozie, sure they will all be stocking them soon.

Fingers crossed.

(I nearly had kittens myself when I looked on Amazon and saw the price of Cat Soup - I didn't realise that it's also an imported animated film from the States, I think it was. Hugely expensive. Grin)

Picked some up in Morrisons today after reading this!

LegoCat had the tuna and anchovy one and I was pretty impressed tbh! It smelt like a tin of tuna rather then that horrid cat food smell...it had chunks of tuna and proper anchovy fillets...not a lot of liquid though so I added some water into the sachet to swish out the last bits of fish and add more liquid.

She bloody loved it! Went back to the bowl 3 times to try and lick out the last dregs!

I may have made a rod for my own back with this...!

How much are they in Morrisons Ihope? The one I opened was very liquid, but Good idea to use water to get all bits out of sachet.
My cats loved the tuna and anchovy, not tried the other flavours yet.

Pretty sure they were about 79p...I struggled to get it all out until I swished water in it...think LegoCat was just glad of extra juice!

I've also got the chicken and veg one...might save that for a few days before I get myself stuck with spending 80p a day on sodding cat soup :o

Tried the chicken broth on mine tonight, all love it, they only had a little bit each, with their usual food.

Mine would love it. Anything juicy is good, especially the stuff that comes out of defrosted raw meat - we call it "blood juice" Grin

They also really like the new-style Whiskas dry food which includes dreamies filled shapes with squidgy middles - never seen them enjoy dry stuff so much.

IHaveBrilloHair · 19/03/2016 21:10

Mine will not eat dry food unless they are starving, so um, never.

Lucie loved it. You don't get much for 80p though.
As soon as the packet was open she was desperate for it. It disappeared very quickly.

cozietoesie · 19/03/2016 23:51

Who all sells it - apart from Sainsbury's and - if I recall - Morrisons?

Report
hollinhurst84 · 20/03/2016 03:10

I got it in Morrisons
Fussy "I no like fish" Ollie scoffed the tuna and anchovy flavour pretty quickly

Stable cat bit me for not getting it out the pouch quick enough. I attempted to video but it took her exactly 11 seconds to eat (I'm not even joking) and that included licking the bowl clean. She then launched in the bin searching for the empty pouch Confused
