Earplugs and just ignore her. She'll learn eventually.

I keep mine awake during the day - only thing that works. Then he sleeps at night. Everytime I saw him settling down I would pick him up - no more howling and scrabbling at night.

Depends on your new place but our cat flap is open 24/7 (microchip flap so only ours get in and out) as we are on a very quiet road with fields behind. Calculated risk between quality of life and increased RTA or other issues, obviously depends on your area and the personality of your cat!

My two have never woken me at night, they go out if they are bored and then sleep on the bed with me when they feel like it and wait for me to get up for their breakfast.

They do also live with exciting and loud children so perhaps that exhausts them a bit! I hear the catflap going on and off and strangely they always have more to do outside when it is dry and warm.......
