Well, it appears they do, and alls well that ends well following the episode of BogBastardKitten, the enormous apple tree, and fifteen minutes before I had to leave to collect kids ... But since the idiot cat is highly likely to repeat the experience as soon as let out again, what is best practice these days with cats up trees who seem unsure about which way is down?
I leave them there. They got up so they can get down.
