The litter tray

Advice needed! Kitten count conundrum ...

Ok all, just what do I do???

I have 3 lovely rescue kits, a very happy family who get on great. Always said when I got my protect a puss fencing would add to the family - bring in a little looked over cat who would find a forever, loving home.

Well, sister adopted 2 kittens today, and her son gutted because they didn't get Albert as well. Sobering a good auntie, I wondered if Albert would be the one?

Anyway, chatted to lady running the rescue, and there is a lovely year old female overlooked and in need of love. So up I goes to see her.

Well, if it isn't the sibling of my sisters 2 who decides straight away I'm the one. I was well and truly chosen. And easier to integrate a kitten. 14 weeks old. But then Albert rolls up, grabs my heart and runs off with it. Sits under my chin purring his socks off. Very very chilled lovely 9 week old. Ok, let's go 2.

But then, the other sibling (still with me?) decides he's losing out and pulls the lie in crook of arm like a baby and purr trick. Whilst Albert is snuggling under my chin purring.

Yes gods, what do I do now??? I have said I will take 2 (stupid?) and pick up is Friday so got some time to decide which two....

Sister and friends no help whatsoever as the only view they have put forward, whilst pissing themselves laughing, is to get 3 and go for it.

I already have 3!!! And I can't introduce 3 kittens - that would be carnage, wouldn't it???

Ps no issue about affording more kits .....

Comments please Grin. HELP!!!!!

I am going for tea now, so will see if wine helps and come back to hear the verdict of the litter tray jury!

Not a huge difference getting 3 nor 2 is it? 2 kittens are going to be trouble so you might as well have 3, in for a penny, in for a pound ?

The WHOLE pound in fact! Grin

This is why I never visit a shelter, I'd end up with 43 rescue cats and a very pissed off Bengal living in the shed.

We know your going to get them all.

GET ALL THE CATS ALWAYS.

I'm only four weeks into this whole cat owning malarkey but I want to own all the cats in the world.

I currently have 15 cats so I'm no help - I've had 3 kittens of similar age before, and it was fine - I currently have 2 which are about 7 months which I hand reared from about 3 weeks old - and they're very tricky, but lovely too!

You lot are no help. It's unanimous!

When other cats come into my garden, my 3 are interested and happy, no hissing or spitting and came from a rescue with lots of cats milling together happily, so am hopeful.

So, I pick Bert, Ernie and Albert up on Friday - oh lord, I know not what I do .....

Six cats is nothing - nothing I tell you! I can only dream of having so few. I'm looking forward to seeing the photos.

Soon this will be you!

I am secretly jealous because I know I can't cope with more than one cat and one dog right now and if I visited a re homing centre I would have kittens in every pocketable I left!

How many is it now, TCN - 22 is it? (Or is that just the number you gave up counting at?)

I think you need to post, for Iwould, that quick picture of yours where you allege there are 16 cats in and around your sitting room. (Although personally, I could get no higher than 12. Grin)

Oh go on then cozie - twist my arm:) (And I think I'm temporarily on around 27 at the moment, but 6 of them are to be homed in the not too distant future I hope).

My house ...

My NDN has 6! She has mum and three kittens, now about 2 years old, I think.

I has 2 kittens wander into my house a few months ago. Unfortunately couldn't keep (because my DH is a twat) but lovely neighbour took them, so now has six Smile

You can't really tell she has that many. The older cats are often outside, except at night. All the cat beds are on the upstairs landing so downstairs is tidy.

Admittedly, she only has grown-up son loving at home so no smhall kids/family clutter but her house certainly doesn't seem overrun by cats.

I'm glad you managed to count them all finally cozie Grin.

See OP, six cats really is nothing. I have that many on my stairs alone :)

Eh, two, three, what's the difference really? Congrats on the new additions. ;) But which one is the female?
I have two which is all I can really afford and have space for, but I do fantasize about the day I live in some kind of massive country house with cat-safe grounds and just fill the place with deserving rescues....there was a 20th Century aristocrat near where I used to live who actually did that. Except his rescues were circus animals of various species.
Oh, to be born rich....
