Anyway I had a few posts before about the old boy being poorly and thinking the worst, he is 15. . .

Turns out he's diabetic and since diagnosis and the injections have kicked in he's bounced backed......with a vengeance.

They, Him and old Girl previously been on dry food with very occasion wet as a treat.

They're now both on wet, which stinks (open plan downstairs).

Anyway he's got very used to being spoilt, he still has OH carrying him up and down the stairs. Seriously, I work from home a few days a week, yesterday, he was bouncing up and down, his fav sleeping place is on the top but one step. But he really is the nosey thing out, so any movement/noise needs to be investigated.

OH arrives home, he, DCat sits at the bottom of the stairs wailing, OH carries him up, OH comes back down, 5 minutes later the wailing starts again. OH goes up, carries him down. OH goes for a run, DCat running up and down all by himself, OH gets home, guess what happens.

It is fun to watch though.

OH puts down the very expensive food that DCat has eaten with gusto for the last two days, suddenly its not good enough. The meows are pathetic, so he gets some chicken breast, and the minute OH goes out of sight, he wolfs down the previously uneatable food. (I've put a stop to that one)

Just for context this is the man who 'hates' cats GrinGrinGrin

He is also the man who I discovered getting up in the middle of the night when DCat was very poorly, to check on him and give him a cuddle.

I don't know who's worse DCat for playing him or OH being played by a cat. . . .

Yes, he does sound like a cat hater. Unfortunately the cat knows he's the soft one so he's toast.

I know. He's all 'Mr Hard Man' London type.
Geezer type and then he runs around after Mr Evil Cat

My granny would have said ' harder they are, the harder they fall'. Grin

Does he call him 'My Boy'?

Haha! Brilliant cat!

Our boy cat is 13. We moved house two weeks ago. At the old house he had a cat flap which he refused to use if a human was about and would sit meowing pathetically whilst pawing the cat door so we would open the big door. You'd then hear him clattering in and out at night.

Now this house has no cat flap but has a gate at the end of the garden with a gap big enough for him to get under (plus I've already seen him on top of it). Dp went and opened the gate for him as he was on the other side meowing. I fear he's started something which will involve 11pm treks to the bottom of the garden!

He's been sucked in! I can take or leave our cats tbh, they belong to DH really, but when our big old boy looked like he was on death's door the other week I will admit I carried him up and downstairs too. He paid me back by peeing all over me - twice. Thankfully it was just an infection and he bounced back. i'm not carrying him up and down the bloody stairs any more though.
