It starts 10 minutes in. It's not a bad report on CHAT's work really. But hells bells I look ridiculous. So I thought the Litter Tray regulars might like a laugh at my expense.

The first shot of me is in the office shot when I'm just looking fed up. I had no idea the cameras were on then and I was getting bored as the crew kept us hanging around - telling us they would need us in a minute yadda yadda.

The second shot I'm in is where I've just brought in the cat without a foot. I transfer the scanner from my left hand to my right, but then don't put my left arm down and for some inexplicable reason walk round with my left hand in this affected looking position a la Larry Grayson.

At least they didn't broadcast the bit where I they interviewed me about the cat without the foot. For starters my voice sound weirdly alien and I became aware when speaking that I was standing at a strange angle, so really slowly straightened up. No wonder they didn't use it.

Suffice to say I don't think a future in TV awaits me Grin.

You don't look that glaikit, TCN! Grin

I recognised you but Celia and the cats were the stars, of course - which is as it should be, I think?

Good piece. I hope it helps the support. Smile

You looked lovely. I look awful on film, dh calls it the east euro prostitute look.

AYAYAYAYYA! Fame at last TCN. I am going to watch you later when Clive Owen has finished cluttering up the screen.

You looked great, nothing to laugh at at all. Everyone at CH came out of it really well. But has Stanley found a home yet? Now he's an absolute star.

Gor, TCN, you are WELL HOT.

I am aching for more kitties - luckily Mr C is giving me the stinkeye.

TCN, you were fab, as are all your colleagues.
Watching that makes me want to rehome another cat, but I've got 4 and don't want to upset the very sensitive dynamics, but give it a year when the youngest has calmed down and I will look to re homing another adult cat... Smile

I was thinking abouot Stanley earlier. How is he doing?

Report
MissMarpleCat · 06/10/2015 22:44

Yes, I was wondering about Stanley too, what a beautiful and affectionate cat, poor boy.

thecatneuterer · 06/10/2015 22:54

Yes Stanley (or Stumpy as we called him Grin) has found a home. We have no idea how he got the injury and no idea how he ended up in the garden of the people who called us.

Corygal you need your eyes testing!

All in all though we're quite pleased with the programme and it's certainly better than Channel 4's effort about five years ago called Mad Cats and English Women ....

Honestly you and your co-workers are my heroes. I adore cats so much but couldn't cope emotionally with your job. Thank you for doing it.

You do a great job! I volunteered there years ago (2002 - 2004) and spent every Tuesday evening feeding and stroking cats. It was great. We eventually fostered a 17-year-old, Susie, who was apparently on death's door but who recovered and lived until 21. Hence my username.

Well done TCN.

I may know you then Oldestcat. I've been involved since 2001. Was it the Canning Town branch?

And the first cat that was foisted on me I got from there was 18 years old (and had been abandoned by her owners as they wanted to go travelling!!), and she lived another three years.

No, I helped at Lewisham. May well have met you! Used to get there when most of the workers had left or were leaving - my colleague and I used to lock up after feeding and fussing lots of cats. Loved doing it. Well done to you all - you do an ace job.

Yes I loved that last shot too Issey! The tabby doesn't 'belong' to Celia. That bit was filmed in part of our rehoming area. There are a lot of big communal pens in there and some of the cats in the pens get to roam around outside the pens sometimes as you saw.

Oh how exciting. We saw the broadcast and thought it looked like fab publicity for CHAT., but it didn't occur to me that you'd be in it.

Here's a couple of foster kitten photos - just because. Must get back in touch once the spare room is free after half term.
