I have an indoor cat, first cat ever and had her for 9 months we are going on holiday this Friday and she's going to a cattery so I got some deflea and dewormer from the vets, it's a one dose does everything capsule thing called Broadline that you squeeze onto her skin.
I tried to use it today, the first time ever so had one arm round the cat and was parting her fur to get the stuff onto her when she leapt into the air, the capsule was mid squirt so the cat has escaped unscathed but the fireplace and my leg are now immune to fleas

I think a bit got onto her but not sure how much, do i need to buy another capsule and try again?

You need another capsule. Practice makes perfect. I ambush ours while he's asleep.

grab when sleeping. Pin to floor firmly with one hand by scruff of neck if necessary. It won't hurt her but she will shoot off into the distance when you release her.

I push the applicator into the fur and push it out, his fur is too dense to part quickly.

Then I hold his head still saying "do not shake, dont shake it like a polaroid picture".

Then he shakes.

In full agreement here that vile trickery is the way forward.

1. Buy 5 broadlines, noting the remarkable cost & that there is no discount on multipack (the makers really do know cats like they say)
2. Inject onto adorable slumbering pet
3. wash own blood & capsule contents off self & bedding
4. repeat steps 2-3 no less than 3x
5. Squirt the final capsule on while pet is eating Dreamies.

I had our vet in absolute hysterics when I explained to him how we wormed, flea'd or gave medicine to our cat. It involves my thickest, fluffiness dressing gown, a cushion and a towel.
The vet did say, in between howls of laughter, that if it didn't hurt the cat and worked then who was he to criticise. I did then point out nicely that not all of us have attended vet school and know the cheats of treating animals.
