The litter tray

Any other cats seem to like... the smell of chlorine?!

This is a bit weird. But I swim quite regularly and when I get home, my cat is all over me! Today for example she was sniffing and licking my (bare) feet Grin She can be quite affectionate when she feels like it but this is more so than usual! Any other cats do this, or is it just my crazy (but adorable) kitty?!

Yes! Mine does! And bleach. Bathroom cleaning day is like Christmas for Jasper Grin

I'm not sure what it is that they love about it. I thought it was just us Grin

Just to add, I don't let my cat near bleach or anything Blush it's just that when we've used it and he can smell it in our hands he loves it Grin

You smell of other cats wee to them, main component ammonia same as cats wee. They believe another cat has claimed you.

Oh I didn't know that. Thank you lonecatwithkitten Smile

Just got to hope that our cats don't try to reclaim us in the same way now Grin

Ahhh, thanks lonecat!

LOL Grin

My cat purrs, snuggles and licks me... so she must REALLY like this fictional other cat. Or she's just covering me with her smell to reclaim her slave!!

That is interesting lone cat - I never thought of that! I just was annoyed when DCat would seek out the newly bleached dish clothes and try to take them into his bed!

One (but only one) of my cats has a questionable obsession with DD's wet swimming costume and towel when it's waiting to be washed.

Portia goes all funny when I've been bleaching.. like she is stoned! She REALLY likes the smell. She doesn't act as if I smelled of another cat.. more like I am wearing the most gorgeous sexy perfume!!! It's a bit disconcerting thb Grin

Oh! I was thinking of asking a question about this earlier Smile. My cat has started to go nuts over the smell of bleach. But only in the last few weeks. We've had her for about 4 years. I keep having to scoop her out of the (well rinsed) kitchen sink and I've hidden the dishcloth in case she starts to chew it when I'm not looking.

My friends cat goes mad for bleach. If you clean the floor she is rubbing all over it like you've given her cat nip. It's adorable really.

The rubbing is the cat covering up the other cats smell with their own pheromones from glands around the face.
All that rubbing is loving you, but it is also very firmly telling other cats that you beLong to them.

Yes, ammonia, why you shouldn't clear up any cat pee accidents with bleach as the spot will then hold interest for them!

Also tyres and pleather shoes

Suscat isn't bothered, but my best mate's two boys love her wet cossie. She leaves it in the bath for them to roll around on.
