GPS tracker for my cat

Hello,

My boy has been returned to me after being missing for 10 weeks this morning. He frequently goes on trips but this time he has been missing the longest so far.

He is 11 years old so making him a house cat isn't an option.

Currently he is locked in my bathroom and I intend to keep him there for a couple of weeks, but he may have other ideas...

I want to get him a gps device so that when he goes missing I can go and pick him up.

Does anyone have any to recommend?
And any other ideas of encouraging him to stay at home, he only does this in the summer, he seems to find a new family to live with for a bit and then eventually gets back to us...

Thank you.

I use a Loca8tor, which finds them instantly, but it doesn't have much range. Not much use for your boy if he's a bit of a wanderer though.

GPaws seem to be the most popular of the GPS devices. They're also the smallest, so not too cumbersome.

Just realised you mean a real time tracker, doh! GPaws only records where they've been.

The Tractive looks good though, but like other GPS devices, it's heavy at 35g, compared to my cat's teeny 5g loca8tor tag.

I don't think loca8ter would be any good for him as he goes much further. I'll look at the heavier one, maybe the extra weight will slow him down...
