she's only 7 months so new to this heat thing (mind you, i am 50 and not overly familiary with it either...). she is so quiet and plumped out on the floor, quite cute really, but aside from putting bowls of cold water around the house, i have no idea really what to do. she ventured out into the garden for the first time yesterday which i was really pleased about (done our best to cat proof the garden). this heat especially for a long haired cat must be a nightmare. she likes to sit in the sink which i think is because it is cold. i have been trying to encourage her to go in the bath adding a few inches of water although she only likes to put her paws in and then run off....does the heat stress any one else out (with regard to their cat?)

My cats are suffering a bit today too - especially the very thick coated one. And moulting so much fur!

I try and keep the curtains and windows closed in an upstairs room during the day for them. They tend to lie on the floor and will usually opt for any hard floors as they're a bit cooler.

Not sure what else you can do really than what you are doing. I think they are quite sensible really in sleeping most of the day when it's hot.
