And other food that we've got on our plates! Is this bad for her? The other day she ate a small leftover piece of Nutella sandwich.

She seems interested in any food that we have. She's only 12 weeks old and I'm making sure that she has 4-5 small meals a day. She growing really nicely. Is it bad for her to eat bits of bread though?

It's not great. I give treats of meat like beef or chicken but anything processed if off the menu.

She's too young to know though.

Well she has both wet and dried food which has the highest meat content I can get. And we also give her treats of beef and chicken when we have it. I'm just surprised a cat would want to eat bread tbh!

In my experience, the odd bit of human food doesn't do them any harm. I'd be careful not to let her associate it with what's on your plate though (by feeding her at the table or directly off the plate), or she'll start stealing when you're not looking!

Some are just nosey and curious so will get into anything. Mine have tried mushroom, onion and pepper when it's fallen on the floor while chopping. They have had bread and seem to particularly enjoy cheese. I am sure it does them no harm as you aren't actually feeding her bread - she is having food. She will probably grow out of it.

Changed my mind on the growing out of it, thinking about it they will just take it of they want it! But is still don't think it will do harm at such a small level.

What a stunning kitten! Is she a Ragdoll or Birman?

Every kitten I've had has gone through a stage of wanting to taste everything. Down to bits of lettuce and apple. It's all part of the learning curve, they just want to discover everything all at once at that age.

Best not to let her put her front paws in your dinner and tuck in. like I did They usually grow out of the gobbley snaffling though.

My cat eats toast crumbs and he's two and a half! He's fit and healthy so I don't think the odd bit does them any harm, just don't make it a habit.

Gorgeous kitten btw!

Are you sure it was the toast she was interested in? It might have just been the butter.

My cat loves Pringles.

She doesn't often get the opportunity Grin

My cat has always stolen the DC's toast crusts. She is obsessed with them and anything cake or biscuit like too.

She used to be obsessed with me too until I had to switch to a gluten free diet and now I'm not feeding her habit she'd not interested!

Has she discovered (virtually covers the kitten's ears) dreamies yet? Or ham? Cats shouldn't have too much ham because of its salt content but as a treat (ie after flea treatment) cats seem to think it is the best.

Thanks sashh. I have to give her flea treatment soon so I'll bear that in mind. Actually she did eat a little piece of ham that dd dropped.

She is a beauty, Id steer clear of letting her near the nutella, as chocolate is poisonous to cats as well as dogs,

Mine used to lick the butter of my toast Grin

I have to hide the Vegemite away from MCat. Can't blame him though, 'tis most delicious and addictive.
