Are there any berries it could be in the garden? It's slightly early in the year isn't it.

I would call the out of hours vet. 6 times in one night is a worry.

Does look very much like berries doesn't it. Those bits - I assume you've cleaned them by now but I might be tempted to give them a little stir with a toothpick if he pukes again to see if they revealed themselves as more blood like or berry like.

My concern would be what if they're poisonous berries? How is he in himself? And how pukey? Are we talking six times since this morning or a sudden onset of repeated vomiting? Did he eat dinner? Did it stay down?

If he seems perky and is eating/drinking ok I might wait. But then... hmmm. Tricky one.

What does it smell like? Doesn't quite look like blood to me.

Is it the right time of year for yew or holly berries? Some species of honeysuckle bear fruit early.

Doesn't look like blood though. (to me)

Being me, I'd be on the blower to the vet. I do prefer to err on the side of caution.

Yew and holly get berries in the Fall/Winter.

He's over it now. Two trays of food eaten and kept down. Phew.

It is too early for berries but what else apart from blood is pink?.

Any chance he discovered a dropped berry ice lolly? Mine would go for it because of the ice cream part.

It's possible, a combo of milk and berries would set him off.
