Started a thread last weekend about our lovely Kitty who was sadly killed by the neighbours dogs. After a weekend of tears, a week of living with a huge hole in our home and a broken heart, I spotted this gorgeous little kitten on a rescue website. As I logged on, her advert popped up. I was the first to call, email and text (it was instant love) and on Friday we picked her up. She had been found wandering in fields, alone, hungry and scared the day before.

She was overwhelmed and mute at first but is now playful, purrs like she will burst, chirps, meows and is currently fast asleep on my arm. She is super tiny, estimated at 8 weeks but I think younger. She doesn't seem to know how to lap drinks but is eating well and after a couple of accidents, is using the tray.

Our old boy cat is still coming round. Will work on their relationship in the week when the house is quieter. Hopefully she will help heal his broken heart too.

Little kitten Amber is going to have a purrrrrfect long life x

She is absolutely stunning. How sad for you to lose your cat in such a way. I hope she's very happy with you x

I remember your other thread. Sad I'm happy that you and kitten Amber found each other.

Has she been checked for palate abnormalities by a vet? (re. the reluctance to lap water)

With kittens, I mix some water into their wet food to ensure they get enough. Just to be on the safe side, like.

And congratulations! She's beautiful and adorable!

OMG she's the same colouring as my cat I lost two years ago Sad

I'm happy for you, was just a shock.

I'm so glad you are able to welcome a furry therapist into your home.

She is gorgeous, I collected our new kitten on Friday too. Wasn't planned to help with a recent bereavement but is certainly helping everybody mend. Our little boy kitten was drinking but not eating for first two days but I picked up some kitten formula and puréed kitten food now he's coping with bigger chunks and dry food mixed in.

He's a lovely boy kitten. Has he got a name yet? They really do cheer the place up don't they.

The vet checked her over before her ad was put up but I'll be taking her in the week for a check and jabs as we don't know if she's had them.

Sorry to hear that Just, your cat must have been beautiful. Can't wait to see how Amber's markings look when she's bigger.

She's a lovely girl - and what a wonderfully snub nose she has.

How is she doing? Smile

I remember your thread Sad. Amber is so pretty. What a cute pink nose! I really hope she helps mend your broken heart.

And a handsome boy too clueless!

I have no idea why I click on these threads when I know there are pictures. It makes me soooo broody for another kitty. And the thing is I do know someone who took in an abandoned cat who turned out to be very pregnant. She has 4 kittens who will be ready 'to go' in about 5 or 6 weeks time......Just after we come back from our whitsun holiday Grin.

She is beautiful. She will help you heal. So many kitties that need love and that bring their own love with them. They find a way into your heart. I adopted Fat Cat after my boycat went missing. I wouldn't be without her now, she's like my little girl.
