Help with cone!

5 month old kitten has just come home from being spayed. She had continually taken off that collar/cone. She keeps licking the wound and I'm getting really stressed! I don't know what to do, vet advised to try and tie the cone to a collar- but it looked dangerous?? Plus she took it off anyway and looked so distress. Any advice?

Ps she is extremely active, not sleeping as the vet said she may, and has eaten A LOT. and I've tried to put her cone on 3 more times!

They can be a bit crazy after GA, distract her. Fuss, hand fed chicken etc until she crashes.

My Little Monsieur went mental and starving after his GA for neutering. I gave him lots of chicken Applaws mushed up with water, in tiny meals.

I followed some excellent advice on here and took him to bed with me. He soon crashed out once comfy and without light.

Oh I feel for you. My kitten was so, so depressed when he had the cone.

He didn't sleep for 2 days, he just sat at the end of my bed looking at me with a sad face.

Eventually I took advice from folk on here who said to take the cone off, as although it may look like he's going for the stitches to pull them out, often they're just curious about them and won't actually aggravate them or rip them out.

He had a few links but and he was fine, and so much happier, sans cone.

Hi
Thanks for replies. I took her to bed with me (for the first time) never again! She did fall asleep for a few hours but then she just kept trying to catch my feet / hands under the duvet. At one point she climbed on top of the wardrobe and pounced on my chest! It was funny, but left me so tired.

I've tried a baby grow.. Resulted in my hand being torn to pieces. So I've left it. She isn't actually licking it, just the fur around where she had been shaved she is licking. She has an appointment at the vets tomorrow so hopefully she's ok!
