Cats not eating

We've got two lovely 7 month old cats/kittens who have suddenly stopped eating.

This is probably our fault - over Christmas we've been giving them left over bits of turkey instead/on top of their usual food and now they're turning their nose up at both their wet and dry food.

Is it worth waiting it out or should we be feeding them bits to make sure they don't starve? Also it is possible that other people may be feeding them - they are beautiful and they're out for a few hours each day. I don't want to turn into a mad cat lady who insists their cats eat only the best but I'm also a bit concerned! Advice please Grin

They are most likely feeling the effects of post Christmas turkey belly.

You could try a bit of smelly fish if they enjoy that. Mix it in with their normal food if you think it might help.

I think Chock's right. Mix something they love in with their food.

I made my first cat proper fussy about his food. It got to the point where he would only eat steak, chicken breast and prawns, which don't contain essential stuff like taurine. I managed to wean him off it by combining those things with his food, gradually lessening them.

Also, I find that a few Dreamies fed near their food stimulates the appetite. Like an amuse bouche. Grin

Thank you Smile I was getting worried but also didn't want to risk them getting super fussy and insisting on steak and caviar!

Will try the dreamies tip with their evening feed tonight
