A fantastic furry day to all the Litter Tray regulars, particularly cozie, TCN and Fluffy, who have all spent this year keeping me and Mr Cory in peak health and happiness.

Mr Cory, who is dozing after stealing a smoked trout, joins me in wishing you all the festive best.

Thanks and the same to you all!

I'll have an even more cat-filled day than usual tomorrow as Celia's is short of feeders and cleaners, so I'm helping out. I'm also on call for cat-related emergencies, but of course hoping not to be called out this year. (I spent a particularly festive Christmas Day two years ago with two policemen searching for traumatised cats in a burnt-out drugs den in Tottenham. I'm hoping tomorrow will be less interesting:) ).

First Christmas in a multi-feline household.
Love it. Perplexedkitten loves the decorations and lights. He's adorable. Smile

Merry Christmas mumsnet moggies :D our bitey little bugger went to the cattery today as we're away from tomorrow until the new year. She's been sent with DPs dressing gown, her turkey wet food, a Christmas stocking, five jingly balls and her laser pointer :D DSD did come home in tears after dropping her off though so we had extra cuddles and stories about the cat.

I hope my cats don't find out what goes on in other cat-staff's houses. I don't have any decorations, so nothing for them to destroy play with, and I'm vegetarian - so no interesting bits of turkey or whatever for them to eat.

They'd feel very hard done-by if they discovered what they're missing ...

Merry Christmas!

Fluffy cat is in a cattery because we went away. Bet he loves us.

I hope there's no emergencies tomorrow TCN.

A whole smoked trout? Shock

All the best to everyone who won't be here later on. I have to go off now to wrap a few last presents and do some more Xmas Eve chore-ettes but I'll be back at 12.

Well against all expectations, Seniorboy has just hit the big 2-0.

A happy Xmas to you all.

I have a bit of a crush on Mr. Cory. He would make an excellent provider. Good marriage material. Xmas Grin

I doubt your cats feel in the least bit hard done by TCN.

Xmas Smile

And happy 20th to Senior Birthday Boy! A cat of distinction! Snuggly, purry hugs to him.

Happy catmus to all! Our cat is sporting a go-faster stripe of stitches where she has had a cut sewn up, so is a house cat for this yuletide season.

Happy birthday senior boy (that's an impressive age!)

Merry Christmas! Our cat is in deep disgrace for swiping the head off the icing snowman next to the gingerbread house, chewing his hat and spitting the chewed up bits onto floor. X

Gorgeous cats!
Our old girl is 18. She kept us awake yowling between midnight and 3am. DH thinks she was disturbed by the arrival of odd wrapped things that don't belong in her house!!
She has been groomed (long haired) given catnip and has had her first two pills of the day!
Wondering if this'll be her last Christmas? Lots of turkey and squirty cream later!!!

Some photos of Ron from the last few weeks! He loves climbing the tree (much to my husband's dismay) and also quite likes wrapping paper.

Happy Birthday darling Senior Boy. What a big day this is for the cozie family - rest assured families across the land (weli, rather bijou families such as myself and Mr C) are thinking of you and hoping Senior Boy has enjoyed his full Christmas dinner.

Yes it was a whole flaming trout, thank you for reminding me cozie. He topped it up with turkey from M&S specially bought for him plus bacon rolls (also M&S, that animal costs me an arm and a leg) and is now comatose on the radiator.

I dropped round Xmas dinner to my flu-bound neighbour and the little lad got outraged when he saw turkey leaving the premises.

At 2pm on Christmas Day we had to make the decision that it was the end of the road for our lovely, gentle ginger boy.

He was blind and deaf and his kidneys were failing. We knew we wouldn't have long with him but he was rapidly going downhill this morning . He had a series of increasingly violent seizures this afternoon which were distressing for all concerned. Fortunately there's an emergency vet and the end was very peaceful.

The consolation is we were both here with him. It would have been terrible for him if he'd been on his own.

Oh PhaedraIsMyName, I'm so sorry.
It's a hard decision isn't it Sad I still miss my little cat, and remember how she used to climb the tree and attack the baubles, patting them far across the room.

No doubt you have happy memories of your gentle ginger boy and I'm sure you'll look back on today and know it was perfect timing for him to head off to happier hunting grounds, even though it's a stand out date for us, for different reasons.

Thanks to everyone in the litter tray for chat, fun and help over the years, and have a great break.

Phaedra so sorry for your loss. I agree that it's important to look at it as being there for your pet and giving the love and best care possible in their time of need. It is a tough decision to make, even harder on Christmas day I'd imagine. I really admire your selflessness to do that. Flowers

Happy birthday to Senior Boy, happy boxing day to everyone (and I'm really sorry Phaedra that you had to make such a difficult decision yesterday)

Shuri's main Christmas present was being able to go outside after 3 months of house arrest - yay!!! Amazingly he's decided that Outdoors isn't quite the wonderland he's been dreaming of as its unaccountably gone Cold Hmm so he's had a couple of brief trots round the garden and is now curled up in ds's room (which is officially the Warmest Room in the House) Wink
