Cat is 5, generally in good condition as are her teeth, though she's had to have two taken out this morning due to the gum. She also has swollen vocal chords. Vet is pretty sure the two are linked but has sent a tissue sample off to see if it sheds any light. Vet posited it might be an allergy but the cat has not shown any allergies to anything in 5 years, she's not too trustful of people she doesn't know and tends to avoid them.
(She's had a/bs and we can give pain relief from Thursday.)
Furthermore, one of our other cats had a problem with his mouth recently, though not in the same league. Vet checked him over, and confirmed some swelling and bruising on nose and chin, but nothing else.
Any ideas? Have any of you come across anything similar? Heard of anything similar?
We are all so upset about our beautiful cat. She is so lovely and quite timorous. She's had a truly horrid time and, though I'm sure she'll start to recover quite quickly now, she's not quite through it yet
