Well whistled & called

He loved it

He went out the cat door - but I called him in after an hour or so

I am so chuffed

Fantastic. That's a great feeling. It's amazing when you know you've won their trust Thanks

He's bonded with you - and Siamese do usually come when called.

Pleased for you though. Did he get a treat for coming to his call?

Yep some dreamies

He likes crunchy or pate but not Felix really

It's just the smallest reinforcement. When they're bonded, they can be so delighted to see you that you make it worthwhile for them on your own. Smile

Seniorboy won't touch Dreamies but almost immediately developed a passion for the Vet's Kitchen cat treats which have no additives interestingly. I have no idea how he manages to eat them with virtually no teeth but eat them he does. Might be worth a try with F?

& I insured him for a ridiculous sum of money - but we couldn't afford a CT scan for Mallow Sad, so I had to have enough insurance for him. If we'd had enough insurance for Mallow to have the scan we would have put her down without putting her through that awful op (that didn't work)

I just love how when he falls asleep his head goes thunk (he is that deeply asleep)

& he SO wants cereal with milk (or just the milk.....I'm not sure)

Seniorboy used to steal unattended milk - which is how I discovered that, unusually, he isn't lactose intolerant - so it's probably the milk that he's after. Guard it carefully - they can be very fine thieves if they're that way inclined.

not sure I like tricks tbh

But it's interesting to see how easily he has been trained.....I'm wondering how I can use this to my advantage

I've never taught 'tricks' but Siamese do train very well indeed so just set down your house rules. We have 3 which are inviolable and they would hate to break them because that would mean an Exclusion From The Presence which would hit them very hard. Seniorboy hasn't broken a rule in years.

(I wouldn't recommend too many rules. They'll learn them if you insist but we've reached a compromise here which works well - they fit in with the few house rules and do what they want the rest of the time. It just so happens that what they want to do is generally acceptable - as long as you don't mind having a cat on you most of the time.)

PS - I have rules which I have to follow as well of course. That's the deal.

Rule number one: don't sleep on Katymac's chest

I'll work the others out later

Out of interest - has he wormed his way into your bed of a night yet?

KatyMac · 01/12/2014 08:55

What do you mean "wormed"? I put him there

I think he fell in a pond (or went swimming) Hmm

He was sodden; I usedatowel on him & made sure the worst of it was off (rubbing the towel the wrong way)

Stupid cat
