Hello - came back from a day out at the in-laws yesterday and Max seems to have developed a limp on his front right paw. He's holding it up when he sits and won't let us look at it. Managed a quick look and pads look ok but a bit muddy so can't really see - he's obviously not cleaned it properly because it hurts. He's a bit sorry for himself but still eating etc and is currently asleep next to me on the bed. Vet closed today so it's emergency vet (we know from experience it's £150 just for consultation after Toby hurt his eye a few months ago - but vet said it would clear up on its own and it did!) I'm wondering if people think paw could wait til usual vet is open tomorrow? I just don't like to think of him in pain

Are you in the uk? Pets at home vets open on Sundays. It's usually full of injured pets.

When my old cat showed those symptoms he had an abscess.

I didn't know that about pets at home - that's handy! When I googled the emergency vet a story came up about how he'd nearly been struck off for refusing to treat a badly injured animal until he'd been paid upfront so I'm loathe to put more money in his pocket tbh...
