The litter tray

Can anyone recommend a cat fur trimmer/shaver?

I've been away a bit this summer and my eldest cat has got quite a few dreadlocks now that ideally need shaving off. Can anyone recommend a cat trimmer? Links would be great, thanks.
She does enjoy being brushed but some of it is past the stage of being brushed out and she won't let me brush her chest or tummy. She is long haired with lots of thick but quite fine fur and is very deaf so no worry about noisiness! Thanks

Have you looked at a furminator?

She'll pull some out herself.

If its that bad you might be better getting the vets to do it under sedation, if you nick her skin it can really open up.

Furminators look good but wouldn't solve the existing dread problem. Thinking about getting one when I've got tge dreads removed.
It's not bad enough for sedation and she's at least 20 so wouldn't be keen on that anyway. The vet has shaved off the odd dreadlock before on her and my late cat so I was thinking if I could get some clippers I could do them myself.

Could you cut through them with sharp scissors?

chocolatespiders I could but I think clippers would be much safer as less chance of cutting her. I also think it could be pretty painful if the dredlock is tugged at. I have removed a few small easy to reach ones with scissors super carefully and slowly but I don't want to risk doing her chest and belly ones like that. I think I'll phone the vets and ask their advice.

Yes that's true- have you looked on amazon at any reviews?
