New kitten added to our family at the weekend - she was 8 weeks yesterday, but the owners wanted to rehome the litter now as they were using the litter trays and only occasionally going back to mum for feeds no more than once a day, so we got her at 7 weeks and 5 days old. A little earlier than I had wanted, but thought she would be well with us as owners (who we know a little through a family member) were giving them normal milk and grown cat food ... she's now on kitten wet and some kiblle left down and WATER!
Taking her to the vets for the first time tomorrow, so will know everything I need to know about having a kitten in the house then! We already have two older rescue cats, one of whom is fine with the kitten, the other hisses a little. We do keep them separate for now, only letting them in with her under our supervision. She has the run of the whole kitchen and is using the litter tray 80% of the time!! We've been picking her up and putting her on it when we've caught her in the act, and this morning, she went of her own accord :)
