The litter tray

The fucking cat pissed on the toaster

Again!!!
She did it Thursday as well. Thurs was because I hadn't changed the litter box and she was displeased. Today our guest had closed the bathroom door where her litter box is.
How to i keep her away from the fucking toaster? I know once she's peed somewhere it does occasionally get revisited. Do I need to buy a new toaster? Should I kill the cat (tempted)?

Yes to new toaster, how are you going to clean it properly if not? Does it not stink when in use?

I'd buy a new toaster for hygiene. Can you get another litter tray as well and put it somewhere that's always accessible?

The toaster?

So she has to jump up onto the kitchen worktop and squat over the toaster?

Blimey she must really hate you! Wink

I mean, I can understand her peeing in the corner of a room or behind a sofa as it doesn't involve effort but on a toaster?!

Could you leave something there with a strong citrus smell to deter her?
Put the toaster away in a cupboard between uses?

(new toaster obviously!)

Fill bath with water, plug in toaster, add cat to bath... Grin

Yet more evidence to prove cats are bastards. I think a new toaster would be sensible. I bought a cheap white one from Sainsburys about two years ago for £10 and it's still going strong. Unlike its fancy purple expensive predecessor which was killed off by a hot cross bun after five minutes.

Oh my god cats really are Satan's minions aren't they Shock .

Yes you need a new toaster. Unless piss-scented toast sounds nice to you.

And you need to swap the cat for a dog as well Grin .

Wow, that is quite athletic. And determined. You should enter the moggie for the cat olympics - the 'Worst Thing Done to an Owner' category.

I like awombwithoutaroof's evil suggestion...

And I thought mine was bad pissing in DD's caraway! Was it up against the side of the toaster, or actually in the toast slots?

Going to asda later so will add new toaster (and dog) to the shopping list. Will lemon scent work as a deterrent? I've got a bottle of lemon juice and I'm not afraid to use it. Hell I'll drown the fucking cat in it if it happens again.
This is the first incident in the kitchen. Before it's usually just outside litter box or on bathroom floor.

WTF, autocorrect? DD doesn't have a caraway. She doesn't have a car seat any more either...

Against the toaster not in slots as far as I can tell. The toaster was in a puddle of piss. Confused
On thurs there was only a light spray around the toaster and wall behind it.
I cleaned it all with detol and warned DH and we hadn't used toaster since.

is she siamese/oriental?.....i know of two other cat/toaster revenge attacks and they were both that type of cat

Try not to use anything ammonia based to clean up after pee...it just over marks it and then cats see that as a challenge.

We use Zoflora made up quite strong, we have an on going battle between one of the cats and dh, in the winter he likes to bring in lots of wood and logs for the fire, which obviously smells of the outside, he sets it by the fire to dry and idiotcat likes to make it his own by peeing on it, so I often have a puddle on my stone hearth.

Eventually dh remembers not to leave piles of wood inside, and eventually the cat stops peeing in the hearth....usually about Easter time when we stop having fires.

Blimey your cat is an evil genius. Far to clever to piss in the slots and risk electrocution. Respect to the cat.

I have a little wooden box that I file - crap- important things in. Went in it the other day to find a school trip letter and my bloody cat had peed in it. It's in the very corner of the kitchen on the work top and certainly not easy to reach.. She must really hate me!
You definitely need a new toaster and maybe the litter tray more accsesable.
My cat had peed in the box as I'd been slack enough to use a different type of litter that didn't meet her high standards Angry

Mine pisses on the bathmat, and any material left on the floor. She saw off a leather Fossil bag last weekend, which she was quite fond of sleeping on. She's now shut out of our bedroom as she pissed on the bed a couple of times as well. Woke up, yawned, stretched, pissed, moved to another part of the bed and went back to sleep!

You are not still using the toaster? My cat was sick into the new- kitchen- present toaster; took it to the tip with sticky labels over it so that no-one would think it was a bargain. (the toaster, not the cat). Cat never been near the much cheaper replacement, but has just walked all over the keyboard whilst writing this.

Didn't know that about ammonia. Will add new cleaner to list. We did just change to a new litter so may switch back.
She's not Siamese just garden variety black white and evil moggie.

New toaster and buck up your own servanting standards! (Having to wait for a clean tray and all.)

Cats are evil. Mine weed in the empty laundry bag. Which doesn't sound so bad except I picked it up with gusto, not knowing it contained a lake of cat piss, sending it all spraying around the utility room and all over myself. I had just finished a very long night shift, had been awake for more than 24 hours, and it tipped me over the edge. My swearing was so loud and so graphic that I had to go and apologise to the neighbours!

Have found Zoflora very good for getting rid of the smell.
