The litter tray

Adopting 2 rescue kitties soon! But which room to settle them into first?

I'm super super excited as we're adopting a pair of rescue cats from the RSPCA soon. One is a confident girl cat & the other a very shy, nervous boy cat. They luffs each other so we're not splitting up.
But my question is which room to settle them into first? We've been advised to put them into just one room first. If it's the kitchen, the kittens would get company around meal times but not much else. If it's the conservatory (connected to living room) we'd be around more but would it be too much for the boy cat? I don't want to frighten him. We do have an 18 month old toddler but he's very very gentle around cats (indeed all animals) which is why I'm confident to get them now.
I've seen Feliway recommended so I can get that to plug in but is anything else I can do to ease the transistion? TIA Smile

i would suggest the kitchen during the day when the little one is awake and then of an evening when theres just adults encourage them into the conservatory/ lounge area

I think I'd go for the conversatory/lounge (providing that you are very careful that no doors/windows are left open so they can't get out for at least the first three weeks) and I would put something in there for them to hide in if they want. Perhaps a cardboard box on its side, or one of those igloo beds. Good luck with them.
