The litter tray

I'm going to spend all weekend worrying now!

My 9 month old was poorly over Christmas, high levels of crystals in his urine, raised temp -2 weeks of antibiotics and a high dilution diet -retested his urine, almost normal, switched to a regular urinary diet

4 weeks later (today) retested urine -crystals through the roof but he has no physical symptoms and presents as a healthy cat

Now today's urine sample was after about 12 hours of holding it in in protest at the weird cat litter so I don't know if that affected the results or not

Vet now wants him in on Monday for an ultrasound and to get a urine sample under sterile conditions

I'm winding myself up with worrying Sad

I'm sorry to hear that. (I was going to ask on your other thread whether you'd been successful and his history now explains some of the vet's anxiety.) Has the vet given you any instructions for over the weekend?

No, just said to watch out for temp or straining but because he seems so healthy they are happy to leave him until Monday

Well no-one can stop you worrying but at least they didn't keep him in.

True

He's currently keeping my feet warm and purring away

Just got him back from the vets and he's now sat in the sink having a drink

Had a scan on his bladder and kidneys which showed nothing scary thank god!

He's got a lot of scaring in his bladder so they have done a screening test to see if the infection is still live which I get the results for on Wednesday

Best of luck - let us know how things go.

(Does he always drink from the sink or was that a special dispensation?)

He drinks straight from the tap if he can get away with it

Little sod knows how to turn the tap on!
