Having work done on house - cat missing

Am having work done on downstairs room floor - boards up etc - and cat missing since about 5.30 last night. he loves his food and no sight or sound of him. Convinced he is stuck under the floorboards. Been awake since 3.30 and have a horrible feeling that we won't find him.

We tried to keep the cats closed up in a bedroom but we have not been as vigilant as we could be. Both him and our other cat have already had a tour of the subfloor but come out within an hour or so. He's been missing 12 hours and I know logically that isn't that long for a mog but just have a gut feel that if he was okay he would have emerged by now.

This happened to dh when he was working on a job. I don't remember the details, but client's cat got under the floor boards or something of the sort. He was found the next day and was just fine.

Phew,so relieved, emerged for breakfast dirty, dusty but okay.
Thanks for everyone's kind words. It's been so muggy at night that I haven't been sleeping well and this was another thing to get anxious about everything always seems so much worse at 4 in the morning!

You're right - it always does.

So glad he's back OK. Is he to get taste treats?
