My Stickycat has not come home...:(

Not seen my little skinny kitty since last night. His fuzzy brother is about but no sign of the other one. It's not like him at all to not come back for food, he's usually out waiting for DP when he gets home, doing his attempted meow/squeak.

I'm pregnant, hot and tired so probably overly hormonal and worried about it but I am staring out of the window and am on the verge of tears. It's been so hot out today and worried he's wandered into a shed to cool off and got locked in. sad

Come home now fur baby.

dingit Mon 22-Jul-13 21:22:29

It's highly likely he's been locked in somewhere. Hope he turns up soon x

cozietoesie Mon 22-Jul-13 21:47:25

He could well just have been shut in somewhere. The weather is due to turn tonight in many areas so people will be shutting up sheds and putting away tools and so on.

Has your DP been round the neighbours?

Is he chipped?

everythinghippie29 Mon 22-Jul-13 21:58:29

Yeah, he is collared and chipped. Will get DP to check the street if he's not back tomorrow.

Stickycat is a soft, friendly little guy so the neighbours on both sides love him. I'm sure they will help keep an eye peeled if we let them know.

Just hope he turns up soon. His brother is sat out front on the look our (and he hardly ever goes out at all!)

Fingers crossed he'll be back for breakfast.

Try not to worry too much. When the weather changes, they change too. My kitties were around the house all winter, but one of mine was just off for 3 days, and came home very nonchalantly, like nothing happened. This happens to us every summer.

I really hope he turns up soon.

cozietoesie Mon 22-Jul-13 22:27:19

Get DP to alert the neighbours if they still have lights showing. Many areas are due to have rain tonight (even thunderstorms over the next few days) and you could have a mewing at the window soon enough. Fo they use a catflap?

Try not to worry - the odds are that he's fine and was just caught somewhere - or is in a hot pursuit with a meal on the hoof.

Lots of the people who have posted here with lost cats have had them return so the odds are good.

Vets called as we were making our missing posters.

My gorgeous little fuzzyman was run over by some scumbag. Another person saw and took him to the vets to see if his owners could be found as he thankfully didn't suffer, it was instant.

I'm devastated, can't stop crying and whenever I see his brother walking round the place mewing and starting out of the window my heart breaks a little.

My poor little darling. They usually stay in over night but with the hot weather the windows were open. I feel like its my fault. sad

Sparklingbrook Tue 23-Jul-13 20:25:39

I am so sorry everything. You must be brokenhearted. hugs

Sparklingbrook Tue 23-Jul-13 20:26:09

Sorry that was ((hugs))

Lovethesea Tue 23-Jul-13 20:28:46

So sorry for your loss. Am glad you know what happened and that he didn't know what hit him, literally. He was probably just exploring in that wonderful hazy humid heat and very happy with his world.

Not your fault at all, it's light for hours at night at the moment so it could've easily happened in the day too.

everythinghippie29 Tue 23-Jul-13 21:01:37

Thank you. like you say at least we know and he didn't suffer. We are having his ashes and will bury them in the garden. My poor little boy. sad.

Fluffycloudland77 Tue 23-Jul-13 21:05:50

It's really not your fault. I'm so sorry.

Iwouldratherbemuckingout Tue 23-Jul-13 22:09:45

Oh I am so so sorry to hear this. Rip little fuzzyman, it's not your fault everything, bless you. I know how hard losing fur babies is, please take care x

cozietoesie Tue 23-Jul-13 22:29:57

So sorry for you and him.

happystory Tue 23-Jul-13 22:33:59

Gosh i know how you feel, we lost one half of a sibling group the same way. So sorry for your loss. Speeding drivers angry

Been awake since 3 cuddling my other kitty and crying. I literally feel like a mad person for being this upset but it physically hurts. I can't believe Sticks is never going to walk with us to the shops again or give DP an often but begrudged 'bath' with his little tounge.

I had my 20 week scan yesterday and know I should be thinking of all the good things but my other cat is wandering downstairs at the moment doing the most pitiful cry that I've never heard from him and everytime there is a sound or a door moves he goes on high alert. They were so sweet together and have never been apart.

I just feel like I can't function today at all. Was hoping I'd feel a little better but still can't stop crying. Trying to rationalise that he was just a cat and far worse things happen but everything reminds me of him. sad I feel embarrassed that I am in this much of a state about it but can't seem to shake it.

Sorry for the emotional ranting!

So very sorry this happened EverythingH. It's awful to lose such a special friend and big part of your family.
You mustn't blame yourself, it's the risk you take being a cat owner -they live to adventure & explore.
He was lucky to have an owner like you who loved him so much thanks

ratbagcatbag Wed 24-Jul-13 15:03:01

So so sorry sad you're not being daft, I found my neighbours cat after it had been hit, I cried all day and it wasn't even mine, I can't imagine what I'd be like if it was my fur baby.

It was lovely of the people to take him to the vets too.

Big hugs.

gobbin Wed 24-Jul-13 15:08:03

Sorry for your loss, don't feel guilty he was doing what cats do, enjoying the warm night air. It hurts now but at least you know what's happened and it was good that someone was kind enough to sort him out for you, poor boy.

lurkedtoolong Wed 24-Jul-13 19:03:31

So so sorry for your loss. I lost my darling boy the same way 9 weeks ago.

One of my friends said something that offered a little comfort and I hope it may help you too. He didn't suffer, he didn't have years of pain. He was out being a brave little explorer which is the best way for a cat to live.

Take care flowers

TeaandHobnobs Wed 24-Jul-13 19:13:15

Oh everything I am so so sorry sad We lost our gorgeous ginger tabby two weeks ago in exactly the same way - we are supposed to collect his ashes tonight, and I almost can't face it because it will mean he really is gone. I keep catching myself looking out the window for him.

everythinghippie29 Wed 24-Jul-13 19:29:01

Oh, so sorry to all of you who have been through the same. We go get his ashes next week, I'm the same, I want him back desperately but know it will be so sad when we get just a box.sad

I've been window watching all day and hearing meows (well his attempted squeak of one) thanks

On a positive note DP felt the baby kick for the first time last night so had some support of the little one! x

alistron1 Wed 24-Jul-13 21:57:24

I'm so sorry. My lovely old cat died 2 years ago and it was so upsetting. These cats really get under your skin don't they?

ChocsAwayInMyGob Sun 28-Jul-13 16:20:34

I am really sorry. Losing a cat hurts so much more than non cat folk realise. I lost my gorgeous 18 month old cat when I was 35 weeks pregnant and cried so much DH was worried for the baby. I cried all the time for a week.

It always helps me to get a new cat very son, but it's not everyone's way. Do whatever heals you. So sorry.
