The litter tray

I have a 'pen pal' leaving messages taped to her cat's collar

Her cat comes over to our house for a cuddle and a cat treat. We never let him in as we have a frail, elderly old girl cat. Anyway one day he turned up with a HUGE collar with a badge saying 'Do Not Feed Me I Am On A Special Diet'.

I sent a note saying 'Sorry but he is getting fed by several neighbours that I know of but I will stop his treat'.

Now SHE turns up with a new note of her collar from a different neighbour everyday which I add to and the owner records it and sends her out again.

My god this cat was everywhere in the close and had been in every house!

Does anyone else have a 'community cat'?

Grin My DMIL Used to be visited by a beautiful old ginger Tom, who did a good line in wide eyed I haven't been fed in weeks cuteness.

Turned out he to was on a special diet he didn't like and was getting the rest of the road to feed him.

a neighbour of mine had a cat (a) and another neighbour (b) on the other side never had a cat... (b) got a cat flap fitted so (a)'s cat could go freely into her house, and despite not having her own cat and bitched to me about (a) because she didnt have a cat flap...

Also my veggi DSILs cat (who is fed a perfectly healthy meat diet) vanishes for long periods to the local campsite due to the lure of cooked breakfasts.

I have a 'community' cat. He was on prescription food for IBS (although to be fair, I never fed him it, it was over priced crap, I found a better 'mainstream' food solved the problem far more cheaply). He would eat Whiskas somewhere (I can always tell when he's had Whiskas) and then come home and do liquid shits all over my house

He's now on prescription food for slightly portly cats, he's still not getting any slimmer despite me weighing out his food accurately.

This is because next door but one feed him ham and tuna, the lady around the corner I suspect is the Whiskas lady and the man half way up the street buys in JWB Ocean Fish just for him.

This is only the house I know he gets fed at, he also been seen breaking into the sheltered accommodation through the other side of the park and has been seen entering the flats near the butchers.

I tried a note once but someone kept taking his collar off.

My lovely neighbour used to feed our cat when we went away for a weekend and she would slow poach salmon and chicken breasts and ONLY gave her bottled spring water. Try getting a cat back onto Felix after that feast. Hmm

My old cat was a community cat. I would get phone calls from neighbours saying "Michael is asleep by our fire do you want him back now?" Blush
