my girlie loves her fishing rod thing. she has completely decimated the fish and it's no longer attached to the stringGrin do.now she just plays with the string on a stick.

she has rattly balls and a feathery hessian thing but since i got her this string on a stick she isn't interested in anything else!

will she get bored just playing with the same toy?

what are your best toy suggestions? shop bought or homemade? Smile

Fishing rod and fish x 2 are now mauled fish with one eye each and no rods.

The crinkly pink and zebra striped tunnel my mum got fir me as a joke is sadly a firm favourite.

Small teddies - always were and I reckon always will be. Sourced from various places - eg ebay, cheap key rings from pound shops and the kiddies' toy bins from charity shops.

Mine is also going for the fishing rod thingy but best toy at the moment is her ball!!

I was looking for some more today but there is a bewildering assortment out there Confused no idea what else to try. She doesn't like anything with bells in seemingly..

Ooh some good ideas! Also we've just had a good half hour of fun with a paper bag. It's exhausting trying to keep them entertained isn't it!!

ONe of the lazer light things. Click the button and they sit there looking for it - they so know it's us turning it off and on!

Bits of paper or tin foil rolled up and lobbed up the stairs (girl Gincat makes a great goalkeeper), dried leaves from the palm house plant, cardboard boxes, valerian tea bags (boy Gincat goes NUTS for this if he can get his paws on it, we have to make sure the cupboard is wedged shut!)

Laser pen -hours of fun

If they can't persuade anyone to play with it then, in order of preference

My shoelaces
My hair
The tag on the zip on my work coat
My dressing gown cord
The curtains
The waste paper bin in the living room
Hair bobbles
Toilet roll tube

There is a pile of cat toys but they never touch them

Laser pointers are great. 2 of mine love them but one doesn't get it at all. He loves the little grey or white mice you get in packs of 3 and some things that look like the skin of a mouse without stuffing. He also has a tiny seahorse. He'll bring them all up to bed at night one by one and then bring them all back down in the morning. doesn't know he's a cat.

My cat likes scrunched up receipts, even though she has loads of toys Hmm

She also stole the end of a packet of polos (maybe about 5 left) out my bag and has been playing quite happily with it for the past 3 weeks or so.

There is a couple of pics of her on my profile, she looks like butter wouldn't melt but she is a little bugger most of the time Grin

mine loves pipe cleaners as she can really easily flick them in the air etc. Also tiny soft toys like Mcdonalds ones etc. The only actual cat toys she likes are the feather on a stick thing and ping pong ball type of lightweight balls

You have to be careful with actual string, elastic bands, hair bands etc as if they have pica they will ingest all of these. Mine has this and would regularly sit eating string etc and luckily vomited it up each time. She ingests foil and shoe laces when she can.

Q tips get stolen a lot here.
The washing basket is a cat fort.
The bannisters and clothes horse are gymnastics equipment.
anything that forms a tunnel is exciting.

One of my kittens steals hair bands from my bed side table and they seem to be here favourite toys. Also ping pop balls, mice on a string and a laser pointer.

Lightweight spongy balls she can dribble around the apartment. Her little pink mice which get carried around like prey then stashed. As do my rings :o

Her cat tree is her fave tho. She is like a wild monkey swinging off that ha ha.
