The litter tray

Can anyone recommend a good cat net?

We have two super friendly and affectionate Burmese girls and a baby due in September. I have been looking at getting cat nets for the moses basket and cotbed, but most of the
reviews seem to say that the
nets give way if they're jumped on anyway which doesn't really solve the problem.

Has anyone got any tips or recommendations for deterring cats from snuggling up next to baby please? Short of covering the cot in chicken wire Hmm or keeping the nursery door permanently closed (which I don't want to do) I'm struggling for ideas at the moment.

Thanks in advance!

A piece of netting won't hold if a cat jumps on it though will it?

Well the netting is supposedly quite strong, but you can't get the necessary tension in it by all accounts, so no it won't hold them off Sad

Have you ever seen a baby killed by a cat in the news though?

Make sure your cats don't sleep in the cot before your baby is born.

It's only for a few months that babies are vulnerable; I would just keep the door shut.

Mosquito nets worked with my cats they just provide a deterrent to cats jumping up as make the surface un attractive. Most cats are not that keen on the small crying grabby human.

Thanks everyone, I guess we'll go with the net and try to desensitise the cat to the Moses basket before baby arrives. And fluffy no I haven't of course, so maybe I'm worrying too much!

The nets are useless. Best thing is to keep an eye out or shut the door when baby is asleep in the basket.

Our old Aggie got caught snuggled up next to DS when he was about 2 months old. Nearly had a heart attack but there was no sense of him about to be smothered, Aggie just wanted to be warm and cuddled up!

I had cats when my DC were born and one night I woke DH up absolutely insistent that I could hear one of the cats under our bed smacking it's lips together!!

I was convinced it was building up to eating the newborn DC Grin In my defence I was sleep deprived and could barely function!
