Just finished feeding DS. Shattered as it has taken ages to sort him out and he's still not completely settled.

Just heard a tell tale 'I've just caught something, I'm the king of the jungle' meow coming up the stairs. Now there is the sound of very active play from the hallway as some poor creature is clearly meeting its maker. Don't have the strength to go out to see what's up / mount a rescue / clear up. Bah!

At 4 in the morning and all!? I hope, for your sake, that he's eaten it all up and cleaned up after himself.

Does the cat go out or is it likely to be a house mouse?

They go out and bring the pests in! Not always dead - I think so they can have more fun - so often I can save them (or they escape and perhaps become a house mouse!)

My little darling left an injured and dazed little wood mouse in the garden last night. I sent DP out to end its suffering with a garden spade.

It's the only thing I hate about owning a cat
