My cat has gone missing

I'm beside myself. I last saw her at 4am and when I got up as 7 she was not around. I haven't seen her since. She normally darts in and out all day. She is 10 months old, is spayed and never stays out for more than half an hour. I have put notes through neighbour's doors. It is so cold out there. I am imagining all sorts of terrible things.

My cat vanished for two months, just over four years ago. I was pregnant and extremely distraught. Then one night, I put some rubbish out and she came pelting in and stayed glued to me after that. I think she was in a shed or garage. Really hope your kitty turns up. Also have a Wine, it's horrid isn't it. People who don't have pets don't understand.

Ps. It was the Winter and cold when she was missing. I think cats go for a wander and then shelter when cold.

You must be frantic!! Have you contacted all cat shelters in your area, a pic of her/him on FB, posters on lampposts? I really hope you get your kitty back soon. Have a hand to hold and some Wine and Thanks
Keep us posted.

Was she chipped? If she's not back by tomorrow morning, give the locals vets surgeries a call - someone may have taken her in (this is how we found my cat when she got lost).

I also lost a cat for 3 weeks, then she just turned up one evening, starving, skinny but safe - fingers crossed that you have a happy ending.

Check all the cat shelters' pages on Facebook - two cats from my street went missing and both were found really quickly.

I completely sympathise, one of my cats went missing for 5 days and I was distraught. The bugger was hiding under some dust-sheet covered furniture in a house that was being renovated - apparently he was always in and out of the house all the time playing with the owner's little boy! We had leaflets printed and leafleted all the surrounding streets and the owner phoned us.

I'm sure she'll be ok, she's probably hiding somewhere safe or someone kind will have handed her into a shelter. Keep us updated and keep your chin up!

Thanks for the support and hope. I feel terrible and tearful. I have managed to hide it from my middle son but he absolutely dotes on her and will be distraught if she doesn't show up soon.

She is chipped but has no collar. I will phone around tomorrow but I am kind of assuming that as she is chipped I would be notified if she was taken to a vets or a shelter. I will call them all anyway.

She is such a sweet little thing and follows me around constantly. This is so unexpected.

What, as you say, it's good news you haven't heard anything as she's not been taken in hurt to a vet and been scanned. Been watching this thread hopefully... Xx

She is back!!!!! It is 1am and she has wandered in. At first I thought I was imagining her meows but then I realised they were real. She is not cold, she has had a nibble of food and she has a smell of SMOKED SALMON!!!!!!

I am buying her a collar.

I am so happy. It has been a nightmare. What a naughty little girl.

:) :) :)

Glad she is back. You might want to keep her in for a day or two in case someone with expensive tastes has taken a fancy to her. You must be so relieved.

What a relief! So pleased she is back. Sounds like a little old lady has been spoiling her with fancy food!

She turned her nose up at her Go Cat this morning and went out twice before she deigned to take a nibble Hmm.

It was snowing when she disappeared and I imagine that she conned someone into thinking she was cold and hungry. What a madam! I feel a little betrayed but it was lovely when she came in and snuggled up under the duvet with me.

Fantastic news!! So glad she's back!! I used to have to phone a neighbour and a local shop to ask them to 'release' 2 of my kitties. It's most annoying!! The neighbour particularly as I couldn't go to bed till they let him out, sometimes not till midnight Grrr!! They refused to acknowledge my requests not to let him in. Maybe stick a few poster up with her pic saying 'I have rate dietary requirements, please do no feed me'. Should shame them!!

Fab! So glad she's back. I bought my naughty boy who went missing a collar that said 'please do not feed me' because he's greedy and loads of older neighbours were feeding him - five minutes later my next door neighbour was leaning out of her window hand feeding him cat biscuits! The nerve! Wink
