White bits in fur?

Any idea what this is? I have just brushed our cat and have bits like dandruff coming off. Please tell me this is not fleas?

If they looked like grains of salt then it's probably flea eggs, did any black bits come off too? You can put the black bits on wet tissue paper, if it turns red it's flea poo.

I guess a bit like grains of salt, but really more like dandruff/dried skin. No black bits i can see, but then she is a black cat. Very odd that we have never had anything similar before though.
