How long have they been together? What advice, if any, were you given by the breeder and how old is daughter cat?

It might be a good idea to start again - isolate daughter cat in one room for while so she is safe but can smell mother cat. Take things very gradually over days/weeks before they meet again. If it doesn't work ask the breeder to take mother cat back.

Female/female introductions don't always work whether they are relatives or not and I'm surprised on one level that this wasn't flagged up by the breeder. Cats are territorial animals and introducing a second always causes stress - usually it settles down but it can take time.
