Is my dog ok

My dog is a Bichon (small, white and fluffy). He’s 2.5 years old. I wfh full time and it’s just me, DD and the dog. I get up about 7 (dog stays in bed) and get coffee. I get up properly by 7:30 and dog and DD get up and come down for breakfast. At about 8:15 DD goes off to school and dog and I go for a walk. 9ish we get back and I go to work (in the dining room). Dog loafs about. Now and then we have a quick cuddle or he goes out the garden. Some lunchtimes we have a short 5 minute walk up my parents for a coffee (dog comes too). 3pm dog walker takes him on an hours pack walk. Kid comes home about 4 and from 5 onwards I do tea, bedtime, tidying, telly etc. Dog loafs and me or DD sit with him. He goes to bed when DD does!
Does this sound ok? He seems pretty chilled out but it doesn’t seem like a lot of fun!

That's what dogs do. Does he have toys to play with? My nearly 3 year old loves his cuddly toys.

Sounds like a great life for a dog to me! If he seems happy & chilled out he will be - dogs are pretty good at telling you if they're not OK. They also need a lot more sleep than you'd think.

It sounds great to me. He’s getting more walks than many dogs.

Good. He’s not bothered by his toys, he likes a big raw bone but I only get those now and then. He would always go for more walks but I just can’t fit in an extra one every day! It’s just so quiet during the day, there’s not even been a delivery driver for him to bark at today (live in a small rural village).

Sounds perfect. I wish my dog got up that late!

Mine is similar.. she's only 15m . I work in school so usually I get up at 6.30 and she doesn't!!! My adult DS2 takes her for a 30m walk at 9, then she lounges around, has breakfast, and snoozes til I get home, then we have a long walk (or with the dog walker if I'm in meetings), dinner, a little play..snoozes, last wee in the garden and a few gravy bones...

I worry she's bored but she has company all day due to my various adult children's shift patterns and she seems content to just be with us! She doesn't chew anything or seem anything but chilled. She does have a GOOD long walk in the afternoon tho (and several miles every morning in the holidays) and she has a high prey drive so off lead runs in the fields keep her happy.

Dogs like routine. They thrive on it.
And they need to sleep quite a lot to process all the things they’ve seen/heard/smelt whilst awake.

Sounds like a good life for a dog!
