Generally its better to reduce the inflammation & the dog's discomfort so would be daily medications for at least a week or 2 then review. Unlike us they've the option to use the other 3 legs to weight bear which can be useful initially, but you don't want the dog to associate using the leg with pain & then avoid using it properly as it will cause muscle atrophy and strains or muscle growth in other areas from the body compensating.
Veterinary physiotherapist are very useful for the rehab side if its not minor, can give exercise plans to do yourself between sessions. They often use laser treatment to assist in reducing inflammation & pain, some vet practices also offer laser.
