Sometimes.
I mostly wfh bit if I’m going to be out all day I do. We also use it for day trips

I used it full time pre Covid but just the odd day now that I'm permanently working from home.

I use it for one off occasions (she's been today as we were having some work done on the house) but have a dog walker for more regular walks.

Yes, my dog goes to daycare 3 days a week and a friend looks after her 2 days. Not currently though as I’m a teacher and it’s the summer holidays. She seems to enjoy it, as when I open the car door when we get there she runs in. She is also exhausted when we get home as she doesn’t spend as much time sleeping as she would when she’s at home.

Ours goes approx 16 times a month depending on shift pattern. He loves it.

I pay £20.

However, I have seen some less and also some up to £28.

Mine is £20 a day but then if you use them for more than 2 days you get a discount (it goes down to £17 a day). Worth every penny.

Mine's £25 a day and doesn't do pick ups/drop offs. The ones that do are £30.

Oh yeah mine also offers pick up/drop off for an extra charge but I’m not sure how much as I’ve never used it. What area are you in OP?

We used a home daycare for a year. However, we were extremely disappointed and would never use it again.

Some are very very good, some just chuck a bunch of dogs in a room and let them get on with it. Nowadays, all daycares and home boarding facilities need a license, but that doesn't stop people working under the radar so make sure you see all the necessary paperwork - licensing and insurance documents, plus things like canine first aid.

The good ones will be licensed, have a limit on the number of dogs and will charge good money. They will likely be run by people who have worked with animals for years, who have qualifications in animal care and behaviour, who are first-aid trained and possibly even have qualifications in things like dog grooming or training.

I don't want to put you off by saying we didn't like it, but please make sure you do your research and be prepared for the fact that not all dogs will cope in a daycare type setting.

Yes I do for day out there is 2 if them so always cover for illness etc (are licenced both houses in 2 councils as one across border)
They are also my dog walker and do homeboarding .Both dog first aid trained .

Main lady is also recognised qualified dog trainer (Postive methods) and qualified groomer. Though no longer just grooms More just the dogs she has

They been in Businesses nearly 15 years and is very popular .No advertising needed word of mouth only and she can afford be selective who takes on


Offers introduction meetings and trial days /nights before boarding
Is able to separate as needed in house
Walks them regulary also has garden
Vehicles suitable for dogs travel in safely
2 of them so always cover
Outdoor warm taps for washing them she reckons is essential
As a rule they don't pick up drop of day care or dog boarding but sometimes she offers it when coming this way
Price 30 in week rising to £40 weekend we are near London .Yes she is expensive but worth it my boy loved going

Loves not loved and more than once they come to my rescue when emergencry happen.
My boy 6 years now and used them since 5 months (introduction before ). I won't book holiday or day out till I checked if they are available first

I’m just looking into this for my puppy. I’ve no urgency in finding a place, but when we do find the right one I’ll probably start him there 1 day a week to get him used to different experiences etc.
I’m in london and they seem to be about £25 - £35 a day. Some offer discounts for multiple days.

Sorry - just wondering - a few of the places I’ve contacted have said they’re not open at them moment due to Covid restrictions and don’t know when they can reopen. On here people still seem to be using day care as well as walkers. Does anyone know the restrictions they’re talking about? I’m so confused about what is and isn’t allowed at the moment!

I have seen both small and large commercial dog daycare centres open.

I think as with everything some places are simply deciding not to open.

It may just be that they don’t have enough staff. At my dog’s daycare the lady that works there is shielding but luckily not so many people are using them at the moment (due to wfh etc) so they are still open.

Sorry biteyShark I didn’t see your response.
I’ve just had an email from one of them and they said they were mid refurbished just before lockdown and they aren’t ready to reopen yet.
The other one is very small and I think take quite a few ad hoc clients so I suppose there isn’t the need at the moment. They are connected to a groomers so I’ll ask them
when I take pup there in a few weeks.

So sounds like it’s definitely individual circumstances rather than anything else.

Yes my dog goes 3 days a week £22 a day. They were open all through lockdown as they had keyworkers dogs (including ours). They also do boarding so she stays there on the odd weekend, oh and they do grooming - fab place!
